Fall Fun at Hatcher Garden Video Debuts
Garden Manager and Horticulturist Dan Shook guides a virtual video tour of Hatcher Garden as the garden prepares itself for winter in visible and invisible ways. Recorded this week, this is one of a series of videos produced by the Spartanburg County Public Libraries about Hatcher Garden. Topics discussed: why leaves turn colors in the autumn, why some trees stay green longer than others and where some trees store their energy when they go dormant during the winter.
There is an accompanying Pick Me Up resource sheet prepared by Theresa Panhorst, Children’s Assistant at the Boiling Springs Library, one of the Spartanburg County Public Libraries. Students can stop by the Boiling Springs Library or the Cyrill-Westside Library to grab a Pick Me Up kit while supplies last or download here.
