Looking for a fun camp for your seven to eleven year-old child/children on summer weekday mornings? Hatcher Garden is offering a science and art camp this summer! Camp participants will gather at the Jess Taylor Pavilion each morning and be broken up into groups of approximately 20 students that will be rotated every 35-40 minutes to each of the four classes (see below), Monday through Friday. Class sites include the Garden of Hope and Healing, the Conifer Collection Gazebo, the New Spartanburg Regional Foundation Children's Gazebo on the Bartram Trail, and the new Outdoor Classroom along New Mary Black Woodland Foundation Trail.

$130.00 per child, which includes all materials needed.

Family Rates available:
$130.00 for first child, $100.00 for second child, $75.00 for third child

  • Simple Machines in the Garden (Pond Pump System, Water Recycling features, Levers, Pulleys)
  • Making Bird Feeders &
    Bird Study (nests, feathers, computer bird caller)
  • Sounds in the Garden & Community
  • Color Distribution (Separating Spectrum Colors: Acetone Finger Nail Polish Remover, Coffee Filters, pipe cleaners)

  • Sketching in the Garden
  • Creepy Critters (Construction paper, crayons)
  • Making and Playing Musical Instruments (Pan Pipes, Triangles, Maracas, sticks)
  • Yoga in the Garden

  • Guided Nature Trail Walk with a Nature from A to Z Scavenger Hunt
  • Product Station: Students share what they learned, liked best, want to do again. Display student products, ie.: color spectrum flowers, musical instruments, creepy critters
  • Jewelry Making
  • Nature Planting – flower planting to take home
  • End with refreshments and sing along
